I Used to Live for this Game

Thanks for taking a moment,

A big shoutout to those who hit reply last month 🙏🏾—I read every message 💌. Truly, the stories, the transparency, the way you’re navigating your own journeys… it just reminds me that we’re all in this life thing together.

Now it’s September!

Back-to-school. Schedules reset. New gear. New routines. New energy. New-New-New!

And of course… Football is back 🏈.

Fantasy drafts 📊. Rivalry trash talk 🗣️. Saturday & Sunday rituals 🛋️.

(And it has already been CRAZY 😂)

If I’m honest… I don’t know that I fully connect anymore or the same 🤷🏽‍♂️.

There was a time when I lived for football. I played it. Studied it. Built my life around it. Knew it inside out. I wasn’t a fan—it was literally my life.

Nowadays, I watch folks get fired up about their teams, locked into fantasy leagues, riding the highs and lows of every play, watching people whose whole week gets thrown off because their team lost 😤, or their fantasy pick got hurt 🤕.

And I get it, I love it, trust me—I really do.

While I respect the passion—I find myself wondering:

Dang, do I still connect with it like this? 🤔

Truth is… something in me has shifted.

Not because the game changed.

But because I did 💡.

I’ve started asking different questions. 🧠

What am I building?🏗️

Who am I becoming?🧬

What actually deserves my energy? 🔋

It hit me:

Obsession can be a beautiful thing, IS a beautiful thing…when aimed in the right direction. 🎯

When we stay obsessed with what used to define us—old identities, old games, old goals—we risk missing what’s meant to be next. 🧱🤯

So yes… I still love, respect and appreciate the game and the fanatics!

But I am now more interested in playing a bigger one—the one that builds legacy, freedom, and alignment for others…for you specifically.

If you’re figuring things out too—your rhythm 🎵, your next chapter 📖, or simply what matters most💭—let’s grow together 🌱.

So here’s my question to you:

What’s something you used to be obsessed with… that has evolved and no longer holds the same space in your life?

And what bigger game are you choosing to play now? 🏆

Just hit reply—I’m listening 👂🏽(and good luck this season😎).

Until next time,

True
