As Q1 is wrapping up in the sales worlds I’ve been gnawing on two terms. It started with fear. And once I got to the bottom of that, another term started popping up: friction.
Fear made sense. We talk about fear often, fear of making the wrong decision, fear of failing, fear of starting something new, fear of this, fear of that.
Friction was interesting because friction is subtle, yet we come up against it far more often than we realize.
Friction is quieter.
Friction is the extra step.
The extra minute. The extra form 📄.
The extra phone call 📞.
The extra decision we keep putting off.
It’s when something becomes just complicated enough that we hesitate.
We pause. We second guess.
And when friction shows up, fear suddenly has an opportunity to grow.
“I’ll look at it later.”
“Maybe after the end of the month.”
“Next season.”
“I just need a little more time.”
Most people don’t avoid things because they don’t care.
They avoid them because the path feels heavy… resistant.
As I sat with all of this, here’s where I eventually landed:
When it comes to fear, we often talk about faith and courage.
Faith is powerful.
Courage is admirable.
But neither removes fear on their own.
ACTION does.
How does this manifest in the work I do?
What MY clients are discussing in March (usually over tea)… ☕️🍵
✅ Identifying where friction exists 🔎
✅ Clarifying what’s truly important to them 📈
We’re simplifying this month.
We’re removing friction and taking action to keep financial plans and life plans — moving forward 🌱.
March Tip 💡
If something has been sitting on your list for a while, ask yourself:
Is it fear…
or is it friction?
And what’s the next action that moves it forward?
You don’t need the entire plan today.
Just the next step 🤝.
Here’s my question to you 🤔
What’s one action you will take this month that would remove friction and move you forward?
Book an appointment and share a little ✍🏽💬.
Until next time,
True ✨🚀
