Welcome to December. The largest volume month of the year for many of us, especially those of you in the Wine & Spirits industry — OND! 🍷📦
December has two tones for me. Early December is still my winding down, planning, hibernation period; but coming out of my Vision Casting Retreat it’s game on again and look out 2026. 🚀
When I was in Learning & Development we’d sometimes talk about a 25th Hour or finding an extra hour. And it’s merely about not wasting time at night on frivolous activities, getting to bed and waking up an hour earlier. May not work every day, yet — Could that be productive for you?
When I consider how I come out of my 4-Day Vision Casting Retreat, it’s this same energy. During my retreat we’re planning, goal setting, laying out the things we will accomplish in the new year. Only… I don’t wait until the new year. Similar to how some get an extra hour in their day, I grab a few extra days, weeks at the end of the year. I use the back half of December to jump-start 2026.
So when everyone else is starting on Jan. 1, we’ve already been at this thing. We’re living it, bodying it and embodying it. Oh, we’re still closing out Dec too.
Matter fact, this is…
What I’m discussing w/clients in Dec (usually over tea)… ☕️🍵
✅ Updating risk tolerance so the portfolio aligns today
✅ Discussing year-end tax projections to avoid surprises
✅ Casting 2026 Vision: plans, goals, contributions, intentions
✅ Sending out advisor feedback surveys — refining the process
This is the quiet work that sets the tone for a new year with clarity instead of confusion; readiness instead of catch-up. This is the work I do. If you’d like to do it too, please schedule below.
If you’re letting go of the old, desiring to plan, reconnecting with your values or wanting to slow things down — let’s do this together. 🌱
A December Treat I’ve Been Enjoying
Since many of you enjoy the tea references each month, I wanted to share something I made recently. It’s a recipe called Green Tea & Cardamom Pears, thought I’d pass it along.
Ingredients:
• 6 medium Bartlett pears (or any pear)
• 1/4 cup agave honey
• 1/2 cup golden raisins
• 1 teaspoon ginger stir-in paste
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (or cinnamon)
• 1/2 cup green tea
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Steps:
- Peel and core pears; cut into small cubes. Combine agave, raisins, ginger paste, cardamom, and tea in a medium saucepan over medium heat; simmer 5–6 minutes until mixture thickens slightly.
- Stir in pears and cornstarch; cook and stir 4–5 more minutes until pears are tender and sauce has thickened. Serve warm.
A very delicious treat that warms me up during the holiday season.
Here’s my question to you:
What’s one thing you will accomplish in 2026?
Hit reply and share a little
Until next time,
True ✨🦃
