Start Smaller

It’s February, and the shine of a new year has worn off ✨➡😅.

The goals and resolutions we set with excitement in January start colliding with real life — schedules, energy, distractions, and expectations 📊.

Let’s talk about those goals and how we actually reach them in 2026.

In my experience, most goals aren’t missed because people don’t care.
Honestly, goals are missed because they’re too big, too lofty, too far away to feel real, and not paced properly. *Sometimes they’re not even authentic, but that’s for another time 😉.

Lofty goals can feel inspiring… BHAGs.

But unsustainable, unattainable goals quietly and often quickly lead to burnout,  or worse, no progress at all 😵.

Here’s what I often do with clients:

👉 Take any goal you have and split it in half.
Then split it again for most of us.

If you’ve struggled to hit goals in the past, start smaller than you think you should. Get a win 🏆. Build momentum.
Confidence follows progress, results…not the other way around.

Instead of starting a goal in March, giving up on it in August, and waiting until December to confirm that you didn’t hit it 🎯.

Try this:
• What would progress look like this month?
• Where should I be by the end of March?
• By June?
• By October?

Big goals don’t happen all at once.
They happen over time through small, rewarding steps that help you stay on schedule .

Scaling things wayyy back isn’t playing small.
It’s setting yourself up to actually succeed.

That’s the mindset that shows up in the work I do.

What MY clients are discussing in February (usually over tea)… ☕️🍵

✅ Gathering tax documents as statements continue to arrive 📄
✅ Strategizing for the year and reviewing investment allocations 📈
✅ Discussing any final Roth contributions 💡
✅ Cash flow conversations — saving, budgeting, and spending awareness 💳

This work turns goals into action — and action into outcomes 🌱.

February Tip
If a goal feels overwhelming, it’s probably too big right now.
Shrink the target. Create a win you can see this month or this quarter.
Progress beats perfection. Every time.

If you’re recalibrating your goals, simplifying your approach, or realizing you don’t need to sprint all year — let’s do this together 🌱🤝.

So here’s my question to you 🤔

What’s one small, meaningful win you could create this month that moves you closer to your bigger 2026 goal?

Hit reply and share a little ✍🏽💬.

Until next time,
True ✨🚀
